LAHORE: Senate Standing Committee on Information Technology and Communication Chairperson Rubina Khalid visited National Incubation Centre (NIC) at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) on Thursday.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Yousaf Hussain of the centre presented a detailed briefing to the visiting senator.

Ms Rubina Khalid said that incubation centres were working in major cities of the country and it was important to expand the initiative to less-developed areas.

Earlier, members of the Senate Standing Committee took round of the NIC Lahore and got briefing about various projects.

The National Incubation Centre Lahore is a first of its kind Incubation & Acceleration platform, launched under the public-private partnership of the Ministry of Information Technology & Telecom, IGNITE, Fatima Ventures & LUMS.

The NIC Lahore provides state-of-the-art facility, established to nurture start-up during their early phases.

The facility provides affordable space, shared office spaces and included services, hands-on management training, marketing support and often access to financing.
