Bahawalpur, March 15: Prime Minister of Pakistan, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani while gracing the 5th Convocation of Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB) as chief guest announced the construction of ICT Block at the university besides establishing an IT center at Union Council level for providing access to information to the youth through modern technology. The funding for the ICT block is being provided by Ignite (Formerly Ignite (Formerly National ICT R&D Fund)).
The Prime Minister in his address stressed on the government’s resolve to do all it takes to uplift the socio-economic stature of the country. Ignite (Formerly Ignite (Formerly National ICT R&D Fund)), under the guidance of the Prime Minister is striving for the development of ICT centric R&D culture and necessary infrastructure across the country. Recently launched projects such as “National ICT Research Outreach Program” and “National Grassroots ICT Research Initiative” are a case in point.
