As part of our international collaboration efforts MoU for mutual collaboration was inked with the British council on Tuesday, January 27, 2015.
The MoU was signed by the visiting British council CEO, Mr. Ciaran Devane and CEO, Ignite (Formerly National ICT R&D Fund), Mr. Syed Muhammad Asif Rumi. Both organizations agreed to work together for the promotion of research, innovation and skills development for three years from 2015 – 2018. The purpose of this joint program is:
1. To stimulate activities through networking of UK and Pakistani institutions, information and knowledge;
2. To share best practice in research and development and industry collaboration and facilitate the exchange of expertise between countries;
3. To strengthen human resources in Pakistan through research and skills development programmes;
4. To enhance the understanding of the important trends and drivers of ICT education and skills in South Asia and internationally.
The MoU will have far reaching benefits for Pakistan’s ICT economy in particular and will provide for a more synchronized and structural approach towards establishing an enabling ICT centric R&D eco-system in line with international best practices.
