Summary

The project developed a reliable, efficient and cost effective Intra-cardiac Signal Acquisition, Analysis and Display (ISAAD) system. The ISAAD system escapable of acquiring intra-cardiac electro gram (ICEG) signals through catheters placed directly on the heart surface of the patient and able to analyze and display it on multiple display units. The capability of the system to intelligently differentiate various intra-cardiac abnormalities to assist physicians in the diagnosis of an abnormal rhythm. A prototype system has been developed and deployed in collaboration with Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC). The functioning and performance of the prototype is being monitored carefully to identify any limitations. This system, being low cost and locally developed, playing a vital role in providing reliable and affordable cardiac health services in Pakistan.
