Summary

A software was developed by the UAF team which can eventually facilitate each and every farmer of any district of Punjab in terms of guidance in the field of inputs to the land for a specific crop. The software along with a Farmers Facilitation Center helps a farmer understand the feasibility of a cultivating the land and assist the farmer as to which crop would be most suitable for his/her land in a specific season with what input costs along with the idea of maximum and average yield.
Through this project economical and site specific crop production technologies have been formulated for various categories of farmers (small- having land up to 5 ha, medium- having land 5-10 ha and big farmers-having more than 10 ha and at the same time resource poor and resourceful farmers) of each district of Punjab through the use of software and these packages of technologies were transformed into e-system available through web interface, for use by the individual farmer. A proper implementation of this software could improve farmers’ education and eventually a significant impact on the overall Agricultural economy of the country.
