Summary

The next generation of the Internet Protocol, IPv6, provides the foundation for a new generation of services. In future, most of the devices and services in the market will support IPv6. This project was related to the development of a multicast video streaming application, which is running on top of an IPv6 network, which also deployed as a testbed in this project. The multimedia application was developed to utilize, and take full advantage of the QoS capabilities of IPv6 protocol in the underlying network.
As one of the outcomes of this project, the testbed of IPv6 deployed in the universities helped the students to get good learning and hands-on experience and an exposure to the cutting edge technology. The availability of an operational IPv6 test bed network produced well-trained students and faculty. Apart from this, workshops and trainings were conducted in this project for training of HR in the field.
