Summary

Face recognition is a biometric approach that employs automated methods to verify or recognize the identity of a living person based on his/her physiological characteristics. In general, a biometric identification system makes use of either physiological characteristics (such as a fingerprint, iris pattern, or face) or behavior patterns (such as hand-writing, voice, or keystroke pattern) to identify a person. Face recognition has the benefit of being a passive, non intrusive system to verify personal identity in a natural and friendly way.
The designed prototype can deliver the following ;
1. A PC-based face recognition application.
2. An FPGA-based stand-alone face recognition application.
3. An Image enrollment and database management system that can add new face entries in a database.
