The beneficiary of Prime Minister’s National ICT Scholarship Program (PM’s NICTSP) “Muhammad Azeem” from NUST School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS) and his team called “CELOKS” won the Microsoft Imagine Cup National Finals.
The team’s project SEED was about donating leftover food to the needy through Windows Phone Application. Microsoft Imagine is the world’s premier student technology competition that aims at bringing together the young technologists from across the globe that come up with projects/solutions helpful in resolving both the present and impending challenges of unprecedented nature. As many as 11,000 students from different universities of Pakistan actively participated in the contest.
The shining scholar of Ignite (Formerly National ICT R&D Fund) with his team will now compete at the Worldwide Finals of the Imagine Cup in Australia, in July 2012.
Bhagesh Choudhary, a beneficiary of Prime Minister National ICT Scholarship Program and a undergraduate student at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences got a one semester scholarship under the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program for Pakistan (Global UGRAD-Pakistan). Bhagesh also has the overall first position after three semesters at the University.
Bhagesh belongs from Kunri Tehsil, District Umerkot, in Sindh.
Jaiky Kumar, a PM’s National ICT Scholar studying in Electrical Engineering Department at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Lahore Campus has been selected for six months scholarship in Europe, which has been granted to him by the EMMA West Consortium at Lucian Bgala University Sibiu (LBUS).
Mr. Jaiky Kumar belongs from Naudero Tehsil, District Larkana in Sindh.
It is a matter of great honour for Ignite (Formerly National ICT R&D Fund) that three PM National ICT Scholars: Umar Farooq; Computer Engineering, Muhammad Mehdi; Telecom Engineering and Hasnain Raza; Telecom Engineering, all studying at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Lahore were selected for participation in the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD-Pakistan) spring 2012 semester.
“I was selected as an exchange student on Global UGRAD Culture Exchange Program for spring 2012. The basic purpose of this program is to increase the mutual understanding between the people of these two different nations. I completed my fifth semester at COMSATS, Lahore and left Pakistan on 3rd of January 2012. My host university was Shawnee State University, situated in Portsmouth Ohio. Shawnee State is a very beautiful university. I was required to pick one course from my major field of study and one course about American culture. It was an awesome experience and I got very good response from American people. Even some people were willing to visit Pakistan” says Mr. Umar Farooq while sharing his experience of US.
Mr. Muhammad Mehdi while sharing his experience says, “I was selected for the U.S. State Department funded cultural exchange scholarship to study a semester at Northern Illinois University in US this 2012 spring semester. I had never traveled to a country across the ocean from Pakistan; it was a completely different experience. I will never forget the moment when I landed on Chicago O’Hare Airport. For me, coming from a small under-privileged area to the world’s most diverse and advanced nation, has been an amazing and at the same time useful experience. I felt great honorur to be able to represent my dear country Pakistan.”
Mr. Hanif Ullah studying at Hamdard University Karachi (Department of Computer Sciences) stood first in his class in Fall 2011 semester with CGPA 3.9.
Mr. Hanif Ullah belongs to Apar Zela Orakzai Agency (presently at Kohat, KPK).

Mr. Waqas Ahmed Qureshi, a beneficiary of PM NICTSP, has won Scholarship to study for one Semester in Kansas State University, USA, under Global UGRAD Exchange Program for Pakistan.
Mr. Waqas Ahmed Qureshi is studying in IBA Sukkur and hails from Hyderabad.
Khalil Hussain is yet another example of brilliance and dedication who secured Prime Minister’s National ICT Scholarship in 2010 after completing his FSc from Government Islamia Degree College Chiniot, District Faisalabad. The award of scholarship encouraged him to complete his BE in Computer Systems Engineering from Hamdard University, Karachi with a CGPA of 3.88 besides being nominated for a Gold Medal.
