Teams comprising the beneficiaries of Prime Minister’s National ICT Scholarship Program (PM’s NICTSP) clinched 2nd and 3rd positions in PROCOM.net and NASCON 2012 held at FAST-NU Karachi and FAST-NU Islamabad respectively. Both teams belonged to NUST School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS). The project named “Philanthropia – The Blind Hope” is a 3D Real time Strategy game for Android tablets.
The second project was “Software Solution for Caching of Torrents” that won the 2nd position under “Software Project Competition” category in NASCON 2012 held on 21-22nd April at FAST-NU Islamabad. The project aimed to solve the real time industry problem of optimum utilization of bandwidth.
Speaking on the occasion the beneficiaries of PM’s NICTSP said “We are very thankful to ICT R&D Fund for providing us such a great opportunity. While studying in a well reputed institution, we feel proud of Ignite (Formerly National ICT R&D Fund) that has helped us in fulfilling our dreams. As hail from underserved areas of the country, we feel privileged to have access to one of the top ranked universities in this country.
