“Massively Parallel Fingerprint Recognition System Architecture for Performing Multimillion Matches per Second” is a Ignite (Formerly National ICT R&D Fund), funded project developed by CASE (Center for Advanced Studies in Engineering), Islamabad.
The project was directly contributed by seasoned engineers and research fellows from CASE and collaborative partner CARE. Some key facets of this project are as under:
- It addresses the global fundamental security need;
- With a centralized processing architecture it would offer secure remote services and therefore it encompasses a universal application domain;
- Its underlying matching algorithm is highly accurate which makes it easier to authenticate users;
- The uniqueness and novelty of this project lies in its hardware accelerated fingerprint matching processor, which is capable of performing multi-million fingerprint matches per second on a Custom off-the-shelf FPGA.
