National Grassroots ICT Research Initiative 2017-18
This initiative aims to promote R&D and Innovation at the grassroots level by providing funding to selected Final Year Projects (FYPs) of undergraduate students, enrolled in ICT related disciplines. This financial aid enables students undertaking their Final Year Project in building prototype and working model to showcase their creativity and innovation by applying hands on engineering and development skills.
The program is being rolled out since 2011-12 and so far, more than 2,600 Final Year Projects have been approved for funding with total budget of PKR 160 Million. More than 7,000 students from 90 universities have benefited from the initiative.
